Happy Birthday Harry Potter

watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on your birthday was wonderful. May your immortal story continue to be read. Thank you for changing my childhood forever.

It's Friday

Just thought it's been awhile since I posted. I will try harder to post in the near future. I'm just busy catching up on my readings and entertainment. This sounds like such an illegitimate excuse--people always have excuses like they are too busy hanging out with other people whereas I'm trying to catch up on books and movies and television shows.

What I've Been Up To

It's been awhile since my last post. Just letting everyone know that I'm still here! For the past week, the family (minus Elaine) and I went up north for some leisure. Well, Mei had school orientation and the rest of us (Mum, Dad and I) decided to go to SF (as you can guess from the image above). It was okay. I'll give more info on a future blog since I'm in a hurry. Anyway, I will strive to update my life more to myself. Until then, I will be off to UCLA for a quick stay.

Eaton Canyon

I looked through old photos and saw these captured my attention. These are the photos in the order my friends and I hiked to Eaton Canyon hike. I went on the Eaton Canyon hike only three times my whole life! The first photo was the summer of 2009 (like mid-July). The second photo was winter of 2009 (New Years Even, I believe). The third photo was summer of 2010 (end of July). Doesn't the (same) waterfall look phenomenal? :) I want to go on more hikes even though I tend to complain a lot.

Nostalgia, much?

Sometimes, like today, I feel so old. I'm feeling nostalgic and reminiscing high school. It hasn't been more than 2 years, but it feels so long already. In addition to feeling nostalgic towards Harry Potter yesterday, I had dreams of high school for the past two days. They were dreams of the people I worked with backstage. I don't even know why I've been dreaming of them. Maybe it's the guilt for not hanging out with them anymore.

The photo above is from one of the last high school hangouts I had with Cindy, Edwin, Gisela, Jenny, and Kenny. I was waiting for Mommy to pick me up and they all wanted to do one last backstage thing together before senior checkout. So, they decided to go to In N Out for a 4x4 cheeseburger. It looked disgusting, but they were happy with their orders. So, I just sat around freeloading off their fries while they ate and talked about lame stuff. It was one of the nicest times I can recall...

And there was this one time when I didn't bring any food while working. All I had were crackers and an apple. I sat in front of the lobby with Erick watching the front of the auditorium. I felt bad for ditching the others to work on the Luau. I just couldn't stand the tension I had with the supervisors. Anyway, I came back and sat in front of the lobby with Erick. We were talking about stuff. He talked about his prior injuries on skateboard or bicycles or whatnot. They sounded dangerous. Then Austin comes by. I saw him across the street at In N Out walking back to us. He bought himself dinner--a cheeseburger. He sat around with Erick and me. We talked. Then he gave me his fries when Erick was away for awhile. He didn't want Erick to be jealous because he didn't buy him food. He said he knew I didn't have dinner so bought me that. I was touched. I felt horrible, too because I'm so picky. I don't go out to eat often because I consider a lot when it comes to food...

Anyway, those were some of the good times we all had that dealt with In N Out. I truly do not think we'd all hang out again. The 'backstage crew'. Hah... and to think I use to kind of hate going to class/work. Now, I'm reminiscing over it.

Heat is Overbearing

I just saw all my summer grades today. I'm pretty excited. I got an A+ in Media History and an A- in Sociology. I'm glad that I did fairly well, especially in sociology. I remember during my midterm, I had one of the worse cramps I ever had. As a result, I basically guessed on the entire exam, getting a C- in the end. On my final, I didn't do as bad. I managed to score a 92.5%, creating the curve for the class. I expected others to do better since it was open notes, but I don't know.

Enough about my grades, July is here! I am pretty excited. I will be going on a partial family road trip for my sister's college orientation. I'm still in the process of planning the itinerary. We'll definitely drop by San Francisco. Daddy wants to see Golden Gate Bridge. I'm kind of excited to see it during the daytime! :)

Anyway, I'm sweating a lot. One of the disadvantages of living in Southern California is the heat! I'm not complaining that much yet! :D
